1. Overview
answering.com LLC ("answering.com," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at answering.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, contact us, book a call, or interact with the demo voice and chat agents available on the Site — and how we use and share that information.
What this policy does and does not cover. This policy covers information we collect through our Site and our sales and marketing activities. It does not cover the data our AI voice and chat agents process on behalf of our business customers when we provide our services. When we operate an agent for a customer, that customer controls the data involved, and our handling of it — including any protected health information — is governed by our agreement with that customer (including, where applicable, a Data Processing Addendum and a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement), not by this policy. If you interacted with one of our agents while doing business with a company that uses answering.com, that company's privacy policy applies, and you should direct any requests to them.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form, book a strategy call, or email us, we collect what you provide — typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, and anything you include in your message.
Demo interactions. The Site lets you test our technology by calling a demo phone number or chatting with a demo agent. When you do, we collect the contents of that interaction — including call audio, recordings, transcripts, the phone number you call from, and any information you share during the conversation. Demo calls and chats may be recorded and transcribed; by calling or chatting, you consent to that recording.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we automatically collect technical information — your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and similar usage data — through server logs and the server-side analytics described in Section 4.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- respond to your inquiries and provide the demo experience you request;
- schedule and conduct sales and strategy calls;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate so we can make it better;
- send you information you've requested or that is relevant to a sales conversation you've started with us; and
- comply with law and enforce our terms.
4. Analytics and cookies
We measure how visitors use the Site using privacy-friendly, server-side analytics that work from our server logs. This analytics does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build an advertising profile of you.
The Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies the Site sets are strictly necessary for it to function. Because we don't use tracking cookies, you won't see a cookie-consent banner, and there's nothing here you need to opt out of.
5. How we share information
We share information only as described here. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Site and run our business, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing services to us. By category, these include hosting and infrastructure providers; call and chat processing providers (which handle interactions with our demo agents); scheduling providers (for booking calls); and email and communications providers. As we grow, this may include customer-relationship-management and email-marketing providers we use to manage sales conversations.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of answering.com, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes described here — to respond to you, manage our sales relationship, and meet legal, accounting, and security obligations — and then delete or de-identify it. Demo recordings and transcripts are retained only as long as useful for quality and product improvement, then deleted.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
Everyone. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from our emails, by contacting us at privacy@answering.com.

You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to request access to and deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share (as those terms are defined under California law) your personal information. To make a request, email privacy@answering.com. We will verify your identity before responding and will not treat you differently for asking.
EEA and UK residents. Our Site is intended for the United States market. If you do contact us from the EEA or UK, our legal bases for processing are your consent, our legitimate interest in operating and marketing our business, and compliance with law. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact privacy@answering.com to exercise these rights.
9. Children's privacy

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
